Abbie Galvin

NSW Government Architect

Abbie was recently appointed as the Government Architect NSW after having worked for 30 years in architectural practice on projects, across a range of sectors, that have been highly awarded, published and recognised internationally for bringing fresh approaches to common project types.
Abbie’s work is focussed on promoting the architectural quality of the built environment and making the physical world around us better for everyone through the power of great design.

Alice Rummery

Youth Representative

Alice has been at the forefront of an international campaign for increasing women's safety in public spaces through her role as a Youth Activist Leader for girls rights charity Plan International. Alice has also held the honorary title of 'Deputy' Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney, sat on the board of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition and is currently a Graduate with the NSW Government.

Elizabeth Mossop

Professor of Landscape Architecture and Dean - Design, Architecture and Building, University of Technology Sydney

Elizabeth has held leadership positions at Harvard GSD, the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at LSU and UNSW. She is a founding principal of Spackman Mossop + Michaels landscape architects. Her research and practice is concerned with the role of landscape in urban revitalisation, resilient communities and cities in the face of climate change.

Ethan Kent

Executive Director – PlacemakingX (USA)

Ethan, based in New York, is the co-founder and Executive Director of PlacemakingX. He works to support public space organisations, projects, and leadership around the world to build a global placemaking movement. He builds on more than 20 years of working on placemaking projects and campaigns with Project for Public Spaces.

Helen Lochhead

Dean – Built Environment, University of New South Wales

Helen is an architect and urbanist whose career has focused on complex city shaping projects including the City of Sydney’s public spaces in the lead up to the Olympics and the makeover of Sydney Olympic Park after the Games, urban strategies for Harold Park, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour. Her projects have received numerous awards including RAIA Urban Design Awards and AILA Urban Design and Sustainability Awards.

Henriette Vamberg

Partner & Managing Director - Gehl (Denmark)

Henriette leads the work focused on city transformations at Gehl. This work has brought her to different destinations in Europe, the USA, Russia, India, Australia and New Zealand. Henriette graduated from Jan Gehl’s Urban Design Department. His methodology and knowledge are deeply embedded in Henriette’s approach, which is constantly evolving through the variety of projects which Gehl undertakes.

Kerry London

Dean – Built Environment, Western Sydney University

Professor London has worked in academia since 2002, held various senior executive positions in government and industry and was the first female Australian Chair of Construction Management. She was an Australian Research College of Expert member and has been awarded numerous ARC research grants. She serves on various industry and government national and international Boards. She was the first academic and female President of CIOB Australasia. 

Lindy Deitz

CEO, Campbelltown City Council

Lindy Deitz brings 25 years of Local Government experience to her role as General Manager of Campbelltown City, where she leads the transitional phase of one of the largest and oldest councils in the state into a transformational powerhouse delivering innovative change for its communities.

Lisa Davies

Editor of The Sydney Morning Herald

Lisa began her career at the national newswire AAP, and has also worked for the UK's Press Association in London and The Daily Telegraph newspaper in Sydney.

Lisa joined The Herald in early 2012. She has held several senior reporting and editing roles including Deputy Editor, Investigations Editor and Justice Editor. In 2016 she was also Fairfax Media's Federal Election Editor.

Robyn Dowling

Head of School & Dean - Architecture, Design and Planning, University of Sydney

Professor Robyn Dowling is Head of School and Dean of Architecture, Design and Planning at the University of Sydney. Trained as an urban geographer and planner, her research has developed deep knowledge of suburban homes and neighbourhoods, and more recently on urban policy responses to new transport technologies.

Shaun Walsh

National President and Fellow – Australian Institute of Landscape Architects

Shaun is the Chief Executive Officer of City Parklands P/L that manages South Bank and Roma Street Parklands and its 12 million visitors a year on behalf of the Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government. Shaun is also a Director of Oxley Creek Transformation P/L which is overseeing $100 million open space renewal of the Oxley Creek Corridor on behalf of Brisbane City Council.

Susan Lloyd Hurwitz

CEO & Managing Director - Mirvac

Prior to her role at Mirvac, Susan was Managing Director at LaSalle Investment Management. Susan has also held senior executive positions at MGPA, Macquarie Group and Lend Lease Corporation.

She is the Immediate Past President of the Property Council of Australia, Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and a member of the NSW Public Service Commission Advisory Board.

Wesley Enoch

Artistic Director – Sydney Festival

Wesley Enoch is the current Artistic Director at the Sydney Festival. Wesley has written and directed iconic Indigenous productions The 7 Stages of Grieving, Black Medea and The Story Of The Miracles At Cookie’s Table. He has directed productions of The Sapphires, Black Diggers, I Am Eora, The Man From Mukinupin, Yibiyung, Parramatta Girls, and Black Cockatoo.
