The reconciliation ocean rock pool

A “Reconciliation” ocean rock pool could be constructed in the beach area that sits in front of the current Kamay 2020 sculpture installations. This pool represents unity, sharing, love and the metaphorical washing away of the “sins of the past”. The rock pool might have words carved into the top of the walls. (Reconciliation and/or other important local indigenous words or a phrase). After years of waves breaking over the walls the words shall never erode. Not only does this proposed pool suggest reconciliation it provides a much needed protected swimming area in Kurnell. The are is frequented by sharks and strong rips. There is currently nowhere to swim safely. A tidal rock pool shall provide the local community and visitors a safe swimming area in an incredibly special part of Sydney.
