Stories about native flora and fauna in our local parks, reserves and public places.

I would love to see more native endemic plants, ground covers and trees planted in our small neighbourhood parks, reserves, schools, halls, places of worship, bus stops as well as street and parking areas to create understory and habitat for native birds and fauna. Some of these plantings could be done as community projects that will educate about the endemic flora and fauna and relate it to Aboriginal or Australian stories or culture. The links could be uploaded to our mobile phones. Sensitive on-going maintenance of these areas would have to be budgeted for. Rubbish bins, park benches and equipment could support the theme or story of each planting.
