Kathy Lipari is Head of Corporate and Editorial Communications at News Corp Australia. With more than 25 years’ experience across media, government and corporate affairs, she is recognised as a trusted media and communications leader with expertise in stakeholder engagement, corporate reputation and media relations.
 
She is a former Head of News and Chief of Staff at The Daily Telegraph and previously served as Editor‑in‑Chief of News Corp Australia’s NewsLocal division, overseeing a network of 20 metropolitan publications and digital platforms serving communities across Greater Sydney. As the national Head of News360, she led major collaboration projects with REA, HarperCollins and Foxtel.
 
Kathy was also Director of Media and Communications to the Premier of New South Wales, providing strategic counsel on major transport, infrastructure and economic initiatives. Before her current role, she was Associate Director, Media and Corporate Affairs at Optus, managing complex corporate, regulatory and reputational issues for one of Australia’s leading telecommunications companies.
 
A lifelong Sydneysider, Kathy is passionate about ideas, policies, and initiatives that will improve liveability, spark innovation and create opportunities. Her experience in media, strategic communications and public affairs is underpinned by a commitment to Sydney’s economic development, cultural vitality and long‑term global competitiveness.
 
She is a current member of the Australian Press Council and a former committee member of Women in Media.
