Cassie is the Event and Partnerships Manager at the Committee for Sydney.

At the age of 13, a visit to the National Gallery in Canberra ignited a fascination for the narratives woven into Australian art. This experience set her on a path that led her to study Art Theory at the College of Fine Arts (now UNSW School of Art & Design) in Paddington. Here she had the great fortune of learning from lecturers and tutors who regularly took their classes off-campus to explore and experience different parts of the city.

After graduating, Cassie ventured into the secondary art market. Initially she developed her expertise at one of the largest auction houses in Australia before assuming a pivotal role in the management of an art dealership. Her responsibilities encompassed extensive research, learning how to identify forgeries, curating exhibitions, forging partnerships and joint ventures, and selling to institutions such as the State Library of NSW and the Australian War Memorial.

Driven by a desire to foster inclusive and accessible design, Cassie transitioned to the field of architecture. For eight years Cassie developed her skills at Grimshaw, contributing significantly across various domains including business development, communications and administration. In her tenure, she played an integral part in realising projects that bore a genuine public benefit, working alongside dedicated teams of individuals committed to making a positive impact.

Cassie has joined the Committee for Sydney to listen, learn, question, include, and challenge herself. She hopes to facilitate opportunities and forums for others to do the same.
