Alex McAlpin recently joined the Committee for Sydney as a Policy Officer with a focus on resilience and building a city better equipped to adapt to climate change.
Equal parts researcher, storyteller and strategist, Alex is passionate about participatory approaches that put people and planet at the centre of the conversation.
With a dual background in strategic communications and social research, Alex has produced policy analysis on civic engagement, disaster resilience, and place-based climate adaptation for a number of for-purpose organisations, including the Climate Council, Sydney Environment Institute, Sydney Policy Lab and the Charles Perkins Centre. She holds an Executive Master of Arts and Social Sciences, specialising in social research methods and community-led development.
