Sydney is a fair and inclusive city that provides equitable opportunity and access for all, today and tomorrow.
The decisions we make today will shape the opportunities available to future generations. We must advocate for investment in education, employment, and equitable policies to ensure that young people inherit a city that provides greater access to prosperity, health, and well-being than the one we inherited.
Addressing gender inequity is one of the key steps to creating a truly inclusive Sydney. We must take bold steps to eliminate the gender pay gap in Sydney, as well as any barriers to participation and leadership for women and gender-diverse people across all sectors.
By improving transport links, enhancing local services, and ensuring housing affordability, we can create a Sydney where opportunities and quality of life are evenly distributed. In particular, Western Sydney's liveability rating should be equal to that of Eastern Sydney’s.
Diversity is one of Sydney’s greatest strengths. We must nurture it by creating spaces for cultural expression, supporting inclusion, and actively dismantling discrimination. By celebrating our differences and ensuring equity across all communities, we can build a city where everyone feels a sense of belonging and pride.
A wellbeing budget prioritises people’s quality of life over short-term economic gains. We're advocating for NSW to adopt this approach to ensure that government spending addresses mental and physical health, education, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability. A wellbeing budget framework would allow the state to track and improve outcomes in these areas, making policy decisions that lead to a more equitable, thriving society for all.
