Vanessa is a trusted senior leader with more than two decades experience leading corporate affairs, media, engagement and government relations strategies in the infrastructure, transport, investment, trade, innovation, creative industries, and sport sectors.

As a Strategic Advisor, she has proven success implementing major programs, delivering strategic outcomes, leading teams through change, and delivering proactive communications campaigns in a challenging government, media and stakeholder landscape.

Before joining the Committee, she was the Executive Director of Communications and Government Relations at the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport.

Vanessa was previously a Media Director at Transport for NSW, led the Sydney Trains Media and Government Relations Team and was a senior advisor for the NSW Government and Sydney Motorway Corporation the entity responsible for delivering the country’s biggest road infrastructure project, Westconnex. 

Her experience extends to more than a decade as a journalist, specialising in political reporting and industrial relations.

Outside of work, Vanessa has been a volunteer fire-fighter and is a former Australia Day Ambassador, nature lover, park runner, worm farmer and cheese aficionado.
