Susan Ferrier

Susan Ferrier is the Group Executive, People & Culture for National Australia Bank (NAB), leading the division responsible for enabling NAB’s businesses and all 34,000 staff to deliver to our customers every day. Susan commenced in the CPO role on 1 October 2019 and is accountable for shaping the workplace at NAB to support, inspire and motivate our people, as well as providing people analytics and insights to help drive sustainable business performance.

Prior to NAB, Susan was Global Head of People for KPMG and sat on the Global Management Team responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of a leading-edge Global Culture & People Strategy for 200,000 people in 155 countries. In her role, Susan was also responsible for leading the Global Learning & Development functions, Global Citizenship and the Global Inclusion & Diversity team. Prior to her appointment in the Global Head of People role, Susan was the Head of Global Inclusion and Diversity for KPMG, and the National Managing Partner for People, Performance & Culture for the Australian firm. While at KPMG, Susan was the Client Lead Partner for a major growth education client for KPMG Australia.

Susan has over 30 years international experience working with Boards and C-suite executives in large global organizations in the financial and professional service sectors. Leading large-scale complex organizational culture change and building high performance organizations has been a hallmark of her career. She combines her broad business knowledge and commercial acumen to ensure that the potential of people are maximized, and central to delivering business results.
She is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). In 2010, Susan was the Winner of the AHRI Dave Ulrich HR Leader of the Year and received the 2010 AHRI Sir Ken Robinson Award for Workplace Flexibility.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, and a Masters Degree from Nijenrode University in Breukelen, the Netherlands.
