Anna Burns

Anna Burns joined the Committee for Sydney as Head of Programming and Events in February 2021.

She is a public programming, communication and engagement specialist with 15+ year background in developing communication, marketing, content and partnership strategies for government, higher education, not-for-profits and the commercial sector.

Anna started her career as a television and radio producer, winning international awards for her radio documentaries. She spent a number of years as a Ministerial media advisor before taking on General Manager roles in two of Australia’s most internationally successful music businesses, Modular and Future Classic, overseeing Grammy and ARIA award winning global campaigns. Most recently, she was in the higher education sector, leading the transformation of the University of Sydney’s public programming. She curated two years of TEDxSydney youth programs and served on the boards of FBi Radio and community arts organisation, 107 Projects.

Anna has a Master of Business Administration from the University of NSW and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney.
