The Committee for Sydney recently held a roundtable discussion with The Hon Matt Kean MP, NSW Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation.
Keane discussed with members the need for a regulatory environment that enables innovation in Sydney through encouraging, rather than stifling, creativity, investment and innovation. He also discussed how the NSW Government’s Regulatory Sandboxes are being used to offer regulatory exemption for innovative solutions that offer clear benefits to the citizens of NSW.
Prior to his role as Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation, Minister Kean has served as Parliamentary Secretary for Treasury, Parliamentary Secretary for Communities, and Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on the Office of the Valuer-General. Prior to entering parliament, Keane worked as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The event was attended by key stakeholders from business, government and the civic sector across Greater Sydney.
