Kindly Hosted by Mirvac

The Committee has recently championed recommendations to solve this challenge with the release of our 24 hour Sydney report. It is clear that a vibrant nightlife boosts the economy, attracts visitors and significantly contributes to the liveability of our city. This requires collaboration between many stakeholders and a review of spaces within the city that can be activated in the evenings to create a vibrant, inclusive and safe atmosphere, a place that people love.

The Committee followed up on this report with an event which took a deeper dive into the role of place activation as an enabler for a thriving 24 hour Sydney, with members invited to hear from a panel of experts to discuss how innovative models are being used to make Sydney a more vibrant, exciting city. Panel members included:

  • Andrew Colangelo¬†| Director, Project Design Management, Mirvac
  • Catherine Gallagher | Board Member, Place Design Group
  • Clr Jess Miller | Deputy Lord Mayor, City of Sydney
  • Augusta Supple | Acting Director – Engagement, Partnerships and Development

This event was hosted during Vivid, providing an opportunity following the presentations to enjoy the lights of Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House with a drink in hand.

The Committee for Sydney would like to thank Mirvac for hosting the event.
