The Future of CBDs: how do we revitalise our economic and social centres after COVID-19?

June 2, 2020

COVID-19 forced us to socially distance and rediscover our local communities. It sped up change that was already underway – pushing flexible working, and online health, learning and commerce ahead by decades. It also decimated our tourism industry.

Our CBDs have suffered. The past months have had a dramatic impact on what are traditionally buzzing centres of economic and social activity.

In a post-COVID world, what is the future of our CBDs? Will they remain an essential part of our society’s fabric? What needs to happen to bring back workers, visitors, and residents? What are changes that will shape the future?

Join Monica Barone, CEO, City of Sydney; Adrian Taylor, Office CEO, Charter Hall; and Stewart White, Development Director, Scentre Group to discuss how we can rebuild our city centres to be stronger and more resilient.
