The brief

The 2025 Sydney Summit is our annual leadership conference that sets the agenda for the future of Sydney. Each year, we invite the public to present their big ideas on stage – ideas that can captivate the audience and inspire action for the future of Sydney.

The audience

In the room you will have many of Sydney’s leaders and decision makers, across private industry, government, education, arts and culture, and nonprofits. Don’t be afraid of being disruptive or visionary – but do make it tangible.

The theme

The 2025 Sydney Summit theme is ‘No time to waste’. Your big idea should respond to one of the following topics, which relate to the overall theme:

  • One Big Move. If the NSW Government were going to commit to one visionary thing before 2027, what should that be?
  • Re-imagining Sydney.  If we could turn back time, what parts of Sydney would you change?
  • Small idea, big impact. What is a seemingly small or unassuming idea that you believe would make a huge impact on Sydney, faster than we think?

The guidelines

  • 20 slides max, 20 seconds a slide
  • In other words, 6 minutes and 40 seconds
  • We will time you, so keep it tight and focused
  • You don’t need a full presentation for your submission, but keep the timing in mind.

Submit your idea

To enter, send us a summary of your big idea, 2-4 draft slides and a short video pitching the idea (don't worry about production quality, we just want to see you in action). We want to encourage people from all walks of life to apply – whatever your gender, cultural background or level of experience, what we’re looking for is game-changing ideas to make Sydney the best it can be. Submissions close 10am, Monday, 2 December 2024.
