Simon Kennedy is a founder and leader of McKinsey’s Australia and New Zealand Public Sector Practice. He also serves global clients having worked with federal, state, and city governments and municipalities in the United States, across Asia, and in his native Australia.

For these clients and more Simon has advised on post-Covid economic recovery, mobility strategies, infrastructure investment and delivery, and the global energy transition. His passion and drive to improve the lives of citizens unpins all his work, which includes:

  • Designing post-Covid economic growth strategies for multiple countries
  • Improving mobility solutions for commuters in cities across Australia, the US, and Asia
  • Designing jobs, mobility, land-use, and workforce strategies for a major Australian city
  • Capturing economic opportunities from carbon abatement, new technologies and the energy transition for the public sector
  • Improving the productivity of multiple state and federal government departments

Simon is a regular speaker and contributor on public sector strategies for economic growth, workforce development, and sustainability.

Simon sits on the board of Committee for Sydney, which enhances the economic, social, cultural, and environmental conditions of his hometown.

When he’s not advising clients, supporting global colleagues, or mentoring the next generation of consultants Simon can usually be found in the ocean, surfing, swimming, and paddle boarding with his young family.
