Over the past 15 years, Simon has advised country and state leaders in Australia, the United States, Asia and the Caribbean on matters of national significance.

In 2016, he co-founded McKinsey’s Australian public sector practice, building strong relationships with Cabinet Ministers, departments and the private sector. Most recently, Simon has supported leaders during the Covid-19 pandemic on:

  • Public health and safety, and economic recovery
  • The opportunity presented by the energy transition
  • Improving the liveability and affordability of cities for Australians and their families.

Prior to his work in Australia, Simon spent seven years in Washington DC. Here he advised the US President’s Jobs Council on restarting the economy post the Global Financial Crisis, and worked with various state governments as they formed their economic and transportation solutions.

Simon’s passion for community has seen him lead pro bono work for some of the most prominent charities, foundations, and sports organisations across the US and Australia. He sits on the board of Committee for Sydney, which enhances the economic, social, cultural, and environmental conditions of his hometown. His dedication to helping others succeed has seen him mentor many young men and women over his career.

Simon is a regular speaker and media contributor on economic growth, workforce development and sustainability. He has also guest lectured at Wharton Business School.

In his downtime, Simon can usually be found in playing in the local park with his kids, watching rugby league or catching up with family and friends.
